News: an edition picked for you

News turns stories about your interests, city, and relevant plans into a personal edition. Each story separates the reported facts, context, Zinley's view, and possible next steps so you can decide what deserves your attention.

Open News

On desktop, open Action Center → News. On iPhone or Android, open Action Center and tap News beside For you and Health. News is a tab inside Action Center, rather than a separate app on Home.

For first use, choose Set up my news. The short setup lets you review topics, choose a city or skip it, and select a language. Choose Make my edition, then wait for the preparing state. If an existing setup is off, current mobile builds offer Turn on daily news. It can take a minute or two to prepare an edition; a visible progress message means it is still being written.

Read an edition

  1. Check the date at the top and the update schedule below it.
  2. Open a story by clicking or tapping its card or headline.
  3. Read the factual summary first, then expand the parts you need.
  4. Move to the next story using the reader's navigation controls. On desktop, arrow keys also move between stories; on mobile, swipe between stories when the reader offers it.
  5. Return to the edition to see what remains unread, older updates, and Saved stories.

The newest update comes first. Earlier updates can fold away after you have read them; open an update heading to see its stories again. What changed highlights a change to a developing story. A new stories control lets you bring in stories that arrived while you were reading.

Understand the story sections

Section What it contains
Summary of [source] / The news The reported facts in short; the source name opens the original page when one is available
Story so far Earlier developments in this story; open a dated entry where a link is offered
For you Why the story reached you and relevant context Zinley checked
Zinley's view Analysis or opinion from your agent, identified separately from the original article
What to do A suggestion and any actions available for that story
Questions you might have Prepared questions you can open, with a route to ask more
Your feedback Controls for future recommendations, saving, commenting, and sharing

Sections without useful content are omitted. A story need not contain every section, video, recommendation, or action. The name in Zinley's view follows the name you gave your agent.

Check the source and uncertainty

Choose the source name in Summary of… to open the original article. A story may also say Confirmed by… outlets, Unconfirmed, or Sources disagree. These describe the available reporting; they are not a guarantee that an article is correct.

Use the source date and What changed when making a time-sensitive decision. Ask Zinley to check again if circumstances could have moved on. For medical, legal, or financial decisions, verify the relevant primary source and seek qualified advice where needed.

Understand the update schedule

Select the schedule line below the edition header to see the updates included in your current plan and the next expected time. The app shows current plan options; do not assume every account receives the same number of editions.

Nothing new worth your time means the update did not find enough useful new material. You're caught up means you have reached the end of the current edition. Neither message means News is broken. New updates can add new stories or develop existing ones rather than repeat a full list.

Keep a story or ask for help

Choose Save on a story to keep it in Saved after it leaves the current news list. Remove from Saved removes that saved bookmark. Saving a story does not mean Zinley will monitor it indefinitely.

Use the story's Ask Zinley field for follow-up questions. For example: “Compare the new rule with the old one and show the original source.” Keep me posted, where offered, sends a request about the story; check the resulting conversation for what was actually set up.
