People

People is Zinley's memory of everyone in your world — one profile per real human, built on its own. Open People from the sidebar.

You never add anyone by hand. Every channel Zinley works on feeds this page — phone calls, email, chat — so the moment Zinley talks to someone, a profile appears with what it learned and how you two relate.

People — the list on the left, and the selected person's full profile on the right.

The people list

The list shows everyone Zinley knows, with a count at the top (e.g. "2 people") and a refresh icon.

Active / Everyone — switch between people you're currently dealing with and your full list.
Search people — jump to someone by name.
Each card shows an avatar, the name (with a You badge for yourself), a one-line summary — relationship stage, interaction count, channel, last contact (e.g. "Established · 5 interactions · email") — and the last-contact date.
Click a card to open the profile.

New account? The list starts empty and fills itself in as Zinley handles calls, email, and chat for you.

The profile header

At the top: the person's name and a plain-English relationship headline — Zinley's one-line read on where you stand (e.g. "Polite · Established · 5 interactions · email · last 5 weeks ago — in touch lately by email"). The ⋯ menu holds the rest of the actions.

You can edit the parts that are yours to decide:

Field	What it does
Display name	The name shown everywhere in the app.
Preferred name	What Zinley actually calls them out loud and in writing.
Your notes	Private context for you and Zinley only.
Relationship type	Family, close friend, friend, colleague, client, business, vendor, professional, or service.

Contact

Every way to reach them — and the identities tied to this profile.

Email — pin the primary address, remove one with ×, or + email to add another.
Phone — + phone to add a number (shows "no phone yet" until you do).

Linking an email or phone number here tells Zinley "this identity is this person", so future calls and messages land on the right profile instead of starting a new one. Unlink one the same way if it was wrong.

Tone — how close you are

The Tone slider sets how Zinley speaks to this person, from Cold → Polite → Familiar → Warm → Close. Leave it on Auto and Zinley warms up as the relationship does, or drag to pin a level you want it to hold.

Overview — what Zinley knows

The Overview tab: Open items, How Zinley reads the person, What Zinley knows, and Your notes. — Overview — Zinley's read on the relationship, the facts it knows, and your private notes.

Open — anything still pending either way: what they owe you and what you owe them. Mark one of their tasks done, or resolve an open thread once it's settled. When there's nothing, you'll see "Nothing open."
How Zinley reads [name] — a short summary covering who they are, what your exchanges are usually about, what's still open, the tone to use, your communication pattern, and how to handle them next. Hit Update to regenerate it (stamped with a last-updated date). Regeneration is rate-limited to a few per minute, so give it a moment before asking again.
What Zinley knows — the facts it has picked up, sorted into categories like identity, company, preference, relationship, schedule, and recurring topic. You can add a fact, delete one that's wrong, and pin the ones that matter — pinned facts never go stale and never get dropped.
Your notes — only you and Zinley see these. Use "Teach Zinley something about [name]…" to add context it should remember.

Zinley also files away things it heard but isn't sure it should keep. Those show up as memory items you can pin (keep it for good), resolve (it's handled), or reject (don't remember this) — and if you reject something by mistake, you can clear that rejection so Zinley may learn it again.

Interaction history

The History tab: one card per topic with message count, date, status, and an Open thread link. — Interactions — one card per topic; open any thread to see the full case file.

Every exchange with this person, tagged with the Topic it belongs to — so you can see which matter each call or email was really about. Each card shows the title, a message count, the date, a status, and a snippet.

The confirm queue — Zinley asks before it guesses

Zinley never quietly fuses two people together or invents someone it only half-heard about. When it isn't sure, it queues a suggestion for you:

Suggestion	What Zinley is asking
Same person?	Two profiles look like one human — should they be merged?
New person?	You mentioned someone with no email or phone yet — create them, or link the mention to someone you already know?

Accept and Zinley applies it. Reject and it drops the idea and won't ask again for that pair. Identity only changes when you say so.

Merge, remove, restore

Merge duplicates — if the same person ended up in two profiles, merge them; the facts, threads, and identifiers move onto the one you keep.
Remove — deletes a profile from your list without wiping the record, so you can restore it later if you change your mind.
Undo an auto-block — if Zinley auto-blocked someone it shouldn't have, you can reverse that from their profile and let them through again.

Topics — the matters these people are involved in.
Inbox — what needs you, including new people to acknowledge.
Activity — every call, email, and message behind these profiles.
Trusted & Blocked — who Zinley treats as you vs. a stranger.
