Mobile settings and permissions

Use Settings to choose how Zinley reaches you and what this phone allows. Account preferences and operating-system permissions are separate: a setting saved for your account cannot grant microphone, camera, or notification access on another device.

Find a setting

Open Settings from Home. Your account card is at the top; the sections below organize the rest.

Group Controls
Your agent's name Agent identity, How [name] works, Model, Check-ins, Notifications, About you.
Connections Apps & accounts, Chat apps, Health, Linked accounts, Wallet, available Bank accounts, and Devices.
This device Action Button on supported iPhones and In the car where supported.
More Appearance & language, Privacy & safety, and Help.

Rows depend on the device and account. For example, an iPhone hardware shortcut does not appear on Android, and an unavailable bank connection may be hidden.

Enable alerts on this phone

  1. Open Settings → Notifications.
  2. Under Notify me through, find Zinley app.
  3. If Allow on this phone appears, tap it and respond to the system notification prompt.
  4. If Register this phone appears, tap it to restore this phone's alert registration.
  5. If Phone notification settings appears, use it to check the operating system's permission and alert style.

The Zinley app destination is always included in account delivery. It cannot override your phone's notification settings. A phone can have system permission while its server registration is still pending, so read any warning on this screen.

Add other notification destinations

Under Also send to, enable the available Text (iMessage), Email, or Telegram destinations you want to use. More than one can be on. A Not set up row opens the relevant setup when available.

Check the address or account beside each destination. If it changes, the app asks you to turn that destination on again. If a change was made on another device, refresh and review the latest values before saving again.

Call me if it’s very urgent is a separate option. It needs an eligible phone number and your explicit enablement. The screen explains that it is for time-critical situations, not routine News. Use Set up if no number is available.

Lock Zinley on this phone

On supported builds, open Settings → Account → Sign-in & security and enable the available Face ID lock, Touch ID lock, Fingerprint lock, or Biometric lock. Confirm the phone's identity check. The lock applies to this account on this phone when opening the app or returning after 30 seconds in the background. See Account and privacy for setup, passcode fallback, and turning it off.

Manage microphone, camera, and other permissions

  1. Open Settings → Privacy & safety.
  2. Choose Manage permissions to open Zinley's system settings.
  3. Review the permissions for the feature you are using, such as microphone, camera, photos, contacts, or notifications.
  4. Return to Zinley and retry that feature.

System layouts differ by iOS and Android version. If the shortcut fails, open your phone's Settings app manually and choose Zinley. A permission denial does not require granting every other permission. Health data has its own flow in Settings → Health; see Health setup.

Change language, theme, and wallpaper

Open Settings → Appearance & language. Choose a light, dark, or system theme; System follows the phone's appearance. Open App language and select the desired language. The interface updates and the picker returns to the previous screen. Use Wallpaper to change the app's background.

App language changes interface labels. It does not force every conversation, email, or caller to use that language. The docs site's language picker is separate too. See Languages.

Make the screen easier to use

Use your phone's text-size and accessibility controls for reading and navigation. The app supports screen-reader labels, larger-text layouts, and right-to-left layouts in the corresponding languages. Buttons can move or stack when text becomes larger.

For voice without a long press, activate the Chat microphone button to open voice mode. During a live call, More → Captions shows the current exchange. If an unlabeled control, clipped text, or focus problem blocks you, include that exact screen and accessibility setting in a bug report.

Separate phone state from account state

Preference Where to verify it
Model and supported saved agent behavior Open the relevant Settings page while signed in to the same account.
Additional notification destinations Review Notifications and confirm the saved address or account.
Phone notification permission Check this phone's system settings and registration warning.
Microphone, camera, photos, contacts Check permissions on the device performing the task.
Action Button, Back Tap, and car setup Configure the specific phone and compatible hardware.
Computer access Review the destination computer's switch under Devices.

If a save fails, use Retry and reopen the page to confirm the stored value. Do not assume a switch changed on every device until the saved state has loaded successfully.
