Work across devices

A connected device lets Zinley work with local files and apps or continue a job from somewhere else.

Name the target

When location matters, name the device and the outcome:

“On my Work MacBook, open the project folder, run the build, and tell me whether it passed. Do not publish it.”

Without a named target, Zinley may choose a suitable reachable device.

What a device can provide

Depending on the platform and permissions, a connected computer can provide files, terminal work, browser or app control, and build or publishing tools. A connected phone can provide selected contacts, reminders, calendar, photos, location, and communication actions.

The operating system asks for each sensitive permission. Grant only what the job needs.

Reach and control

Cross-device access must be enabled on the target. If supported, you can view another device's screen and request control as a separate grant. End the session when the job is complete.

A remote session does not make an offline machine available. The Zinley app must be signed in and reachable; hardware that is powered off cannot run a task.

Review the receipt

Device work should return a result with enough evidence to verify what happened. For risky actions, ask for a preview or validation before allowing a send, publish, delete, or payment.

Guests on connected chat apps do not receive access to your devices. Account-wide authority still applies to outward actions.
