Your Agent's Email Address
Zinley has its own email address — {username}@me.zinley.com. Mail sent there reaches your
agent, and your agent sends from it. You don't set it up: the address is created for you the
first time you use an email feature.
Where to find it
Open Configure → Your Zinley → Profile. The Email field shows the live address; click Copy to grab it.
The same address also appears on your agent's public contact card, so people can reach it without you sending it over by hand.
Nothing to set up. You don't claim an address before you can use email. Zinley picks a sensible username from your name or sign-in address the first time it needs one, and the address works from that moment on.
Choosing your own username
You can replace the auto-assigned username with one you like better. Type the username you want and Zinley checks it live:
- Available — yours to claim.
- Taken or reserved — Zinley offers up to five nearby alternatives that are free (the Gmail-style "did you mean…" list), so you rarely have to guess again.
Username rules
| Rule | Detail |
|---|---|
| Length | 3–30 characters |
| Characters | Lowercase letters and digits only |
| Hyphens | Single hyphens between segments — no leading, trailing, or doubled hyphens |
| Not allowed | Uppercase, underscores, dots, spaces, accents |
| Reserved | Common mailbox and brand names are blocked — support, admin, billing, help, info, zinley, no-reply, and similar |
So nghiem, hoang-work, and studio42 are fine. Hoang_Nghiem, -hoang, and
hoang--nghiem are not.
You get one rename — make it count
Changing your username is a one-time, lifetime change. After you save it, the address is locked and the editor stops accepting new values.
- The auto-assigned address doesn't burn your change — your one shot is reserved for the first username you actually pick.
- Need a second change after that? It has to go through support, and it's an exception rather than a routine.
Why so strict: your address ends up in other people's contacts, in mail-client autocomplete, and in live threads. A username that keeps moving quietly breaks conversations you can't see.
Your old address keeps working for ~90 days
When you rename, the previous address becomes an alias for about 90 days. During that window:
- Mail sent to the old address still reaches your agent, exactly as before.
- Threads already in flight — the ones where the other side saved your old address — carry on without anyone noticing.
- Your agent sends from the new address only, so the world learns the new one naturally.
After the grace window the old username is released back to the pool and can be claimed by someone else. Give people the new address well before then.
There's no way to delete the address
The address can be renamed once, but it can't be released or deleted. If you want your agent to stop answering mail, that's a behaviour setting, not an address change:
- Turn Reply mode to off in Email settings — mail is still logged, the agent just never answers.
- Or reply STOP to any Zinley email to pause inbound handling for 24 hours (see Inbound email).
- Blocking a specific sender is on Trusted & blocked.
