Share a conversation snapshot

A conversation share link gives someone a public, read-only snapshot. Review the messages before sharing. Private details typed or quoted in a message can be visible to anyone with the link.

Open it

On desktop, open the conversation, then choose + → Chat options → Share. On mobile, open the conversation menu and choose Share. Manage links under Settings → Privacy & safety → Shared links on current desktop and mobile apps.

Create and check a link

  1. Read the conversation and remove or avoid sharing material the recipient should not see.
  2. In Share, turn on Public link on desktop, or choose Create share link on mobile.
  3. Read the snapshot and expiration information shown.
  4. Copy the link and verify the shared view before sending it.
  5. Keep the link available if you may need to revoke it.

Current conversation links expire three hours after creation. They can be read without signing into your account. A snapshot is not a live promise to include every future message; use the share dialog's status to understand what was captured.

Rotate or revoke

Rotate link asks you to confirm, then creates a new address and invalidates the previous one. Turn Public link off on desktop, use Stop sharing on mobile, or revoke the entry in Shared links. Shared links shows available active and expired entries; open the relevant entry rather than guessing which conversation a link belongs to.

Revoking or expiration limits future access through the link. It cannot erase a screenshot, download, or copy already made. If a recipient can fork the snapshot into their own account, that continuation is separate from yours.

What it does not grant

The snapshot contains conversation messages. Attached files, screenshots, tool-output metadata, and account identity are excluded. Text or artifact content already written inside a message may still be included: check the shared view.

A conversation snapshot does not give the reader your account, private People records, unrelated conversations, or device access. It is also separate from News sharing, Health sharing, and the agent's contact card; each exposes different content.

Fix a sharing problem

Check expiration, whether the link was revoked or rotated, and whether creation actually succeeded. If you shared the wrong content, revoke promptly and send a new, smaller result. Contact support if a revoked link still appears accessible, including the exact link privately rather than posting it in a public community.
