Check-ins: let your agent notice what needs you
Check-ins let your agent review available context in the background and bring useful findings or decisions to Action Center. They need working connections, available credits, and a schedule your account supports.
Open it
On desktop or mobile, open Settings → Check-ins. You can also open the check-in status from the options menu in Action Center → For you.
Turn them on
- Open the current status and read what the agent will check.
- Review the connected sources, notification destinations, timing, and credit notice.
- Choose Turn on when offered.
- Select an available Check every interval in Settings.
- Confirm the saved state and inspect the last and next check.
If the screen says the feature is not available for your account, there is no working toggle to force it on. Locked intervals reflect your current plan. A saved interval is a schedule, not a guarantee every provider will be readable at that time.
Understand what is checked
Connect the relevant services under Settings → Apps & accounts. Your agent can also use conversation context. Check the current source list and any unavailable-source warning. It cannot review information it has not been allowed to access.
Background check-ins ask before emailing, calling, or booking with other people even when general behavior is Go ahead, then tell me. Review the actual proposal under Needs you before approving it.
Morning message and delivery
Use the available morning-message toggle in Check-ins. The status sheet shows the effective morning time and quiet-hours window that may delay delivery. Do not assume the current page exposes an editable time or quiet-hours field merely because older guides did.
Open Notifications to choose extra delivery destinations. A quiet period or delayed delivery is different from a failed check; inspect status and the actual message separately.
Pause and resume
Open the status sheet and choose the offered pause duration, such as until tomorrow, for a week, or until you resume. Confirm the paused state. Use Resume when ready.
Pausing check-ins does not cancel every scheduled task, running conversation, or external action. Stop those at their own controls when needed.
When nothing appears
Check whether a check completed, whether sources loaded, whether credits or plan limits blocked it, and whether the feed is current. “Nothing needs you” can be a valid quiet result; “could not load” is not the same thing. Use Action Center to inspect findings and support for persistent mismatches.
